The checksum digit is based on a modulo 10 calculation based on the weighted sum of
EAN/UPC business data message.

- In the barcode data cell
A3, key in 12 or 13 digits as EAN-13 code, with+and 2 digits add-on code. For example,123456789012+12. - Choose Barcode Type as "EAN 13 +2". It will generate EAN-13 with 2 digits add-on barcode in Excel sheet.
- Click Update button to update the barcode
Customize Add-on Bar
You can create and customize EAN/UPC add-on barcode in Excel file.
In "Barcode Settings" pane, find EAN / UPC group in "1D Barcode" tab.
Here is a simple EAN-13 add-on customization example.

- Bar height ratio. This property is measuring the add-on bar height vs main barcode height ratio. The default value is 0.8, which means the add-on bar height is 80% of the main barcode height.
- Bar space (in px). This property is the gap space between main barcode and add-on barcode. The default is 40 pixels.
Here is a simple EAN-13 add-on customization example.
- Change Bar height ratio value to 0.6.
- Change Bar space (in px) value to 60.
- Press button Update to re-print the EAN-13 image with add-on configuration applied.

There is no special requirements for EAN/UPC human readable text. The GS1 System recommends to use OCR-B font to render EAN/UPC human readable text.
When you download and install Excel Barcode Generator Add-in, you will install a free OCR-B font also. And the default font used by EAN/UPC barcode is OCR-B.
You can change the Font property to other font family in "Barcode text style" in "1D Barcode" tab.

Lead / Trail digit options (space, size ratio)
In UPC-A and UPC-E barcode, the first digit (number system digit) is printed just to the left of the bar code, and the last digit (check digit) just to
the right of the bar code.
In EAN-13, only the first digit is printed to the left of the bar code.
